TEMPERANCE AND SELF-CONTROL

MAY WE DEVELOP THE FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

TO HELP US OBTAIN TEMPERANCE IN ALL AREAS OF OUR LIFE...

The word temperance is used in the King James Version of the Bible

and it means self-control.

Temperance is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit will help us with self-control to overcome sin, and obey God.

As we submit to the LORD in His strength not our own attempts, we can overcome.

Apart from His ability flowing through us,

we are unable to even do what we would want,

but if we ask, God will help us to surrender and yield to His will.

Galatians 5:22-24

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,

long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness,

temperance: against such there is no law.

2 Peter 1:5-6

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue;

and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance;

and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness.

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER,

May the grace and power of God enable us to walk in faith and exercise self-discipline,

to have victory over all of our temptations

so that we walk by the Spirit and not in the flesh.

We humbly ask this in the precious Name that is above all names,

Jesus Christ our LORD.
