PICK UP YOUR SWORD...
The sword is the WORD of GOD.
Pick it up, cast down the lies, and lift up the truth.
Speak the WORD in every area of your life and live by it continually.
David learned in order to defeat Goliath, he didn’t need a physical sword in his hand, he needed the sword of the Word in his mouth.
He spoke forth and declared what was true about God in his situation.
This was preparation for ruling and reigning later in life.
David spoke revelation from GOD’S heart as an earthly king.
He said I see the LORD always (all the time) at my right hand
(the right hand signifies the government of GOD).
David saw the pre-incarnate Christ
that became Jesus the man while
He was still with GOD the FATHER as the WORD.
Read the story of David and Goliath if you want to be inspired.
It is a lesson for all of us about how important it is that we
speak the Word and believe it
.
When GOD showed me the scriptures below,
it surprised me what He showed me.
Notice how many times the Bible quotes David when it says …
David said.
He just kept declaring and believing with His mouth
and speaking forth the WORD. Notice how close together they are.
The story of David and Goliath is found in the book of 1 Samuel 17: 1-50 KJV
And David spake or said…(with the spoken sword of his mouth) I Samuel 17:26
And the people answered…17:27
And David said…..17:29
When the words were heard that David spake…17:31
And David said to Saul…17:32
And David said unto Saul…..17:34
And David said the moreover…17:37
“The LORD (the WORD Himself) that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver (no doubts here)
out of the hand of this Philistine.
Then David said unto Saul 17:39….
When he was given Saul’s sword (another Sword - another gospel –
one that has not been proven) …I love this part.
David said, “I cannot go with these for I have not proved them…”
in other words
he didn’t trust what he had not proved was safe to believe in…
He didn’t put his trust in “something” but “Someone”…
which was the personal WORD of GOD for David…and for us as well.
David would not use something that was not tried and true…
so he stayed with “the Sword” and released it by the words of his mouth…
which revealed what he believed about God
and he had already proven their worth and value…
He had the genuine confirmation the spoken WORD produces.
Then David said to the Philistine…17:45
“Thou comest to me with a (physical) sword and with a spear, and with a shield:
but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of Host,
the God of the armies of Israel, who thou hast defied.
This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hands
(declared the results before they took place)
and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee,
and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines
this day unto the fowls of the air
and to the wild beasts of the earth:
that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.”
And look at the end of the story
and the last scripture that sums up all the others, I love this 17:50:
“So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone
and smote the Philistine, and slew him;”
And the scripture ends with…
“BUT THERE WAS NO SWORD IN THE HAND OF DAVID”…
because the Sword Was in His mouth!!!
This is so powerful…
the WORD that we speak,
that is in agreement with GOD, is a SWORD that destroys the enemy.
