OVERCOMING BITTERNESS AND FEAR
"Let love be genuine and abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.
Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
The Bible says, "Do not be slothful in zeal...be fervent in Spirit."
Romans 12:9-10 ESV
Bitterness and fear are the main spiritual forces behind most diseases.
If these two areas are not dealt with in someone’s life,
it is an obstacle to healing and hinders God’s plans for you.
It will stop all forward progress in areas God wants to deliver you from
in every area of your life.Ephesians 4:32 KJV
Bitterness begins with un-forgiveness but it progresses into a stronghold based on fear.
We are fearful when someone wounds our heart, rejects us, or doesn’t love and accept us.
This kind of fear works with bitterness to hold it in place.
We will try to save our life because of fear when our heart has been wounded so
we will not get hurt again and go through the same pain we felt before.
But in order to be healed and then overcome unforgiveness
we must let go of fear in order to stop being hurt again...
Fear is held in place by the
principality of bitterness....
which justifies the reasons for why we respond the way we do...
But when we lose our life and let those feeling be give over to GOD...
bitterness and fear are removed from us and replaced with acceptance.
Evil cannot remain in the presence of GOD.
After the stronghold of fear is formed
it is very difficult to let go and not remember what someone did.
Fear will produce a form hate for the one who wounded you
and hatred for yourself because you didn’t measure up to your own expectations.
Unforgiveness works from the principle of hatred .
Unforgiveness and self-hatred is a part of bitterness which will keep you from loving God
or yourself correctly.
Forgiveness works by love... Matthew 22: 34-37
You cannot forgive or love until you receive forgiveness and love from God yourself.
Then you simply give away only what you have been given.
Matthew 22: 38-40
The Father’s love is the foundation God will build on that enables you to
give and receive love.
Jesus came to show us the Father.John 17:25-26
No matter what happened with your earthly father,
God wants to be the perfect Father that you need.
God is love. Perfect love cast out fear.
He that has fear is not made perfect in love...because fear has torment.
1 John 4:17-21
When God’s love is not present within us there is torment.
There are many different kinds of fear.
Both bitterness and fear can produce diseases that are a sin unto death.
We think faith is the opposite of unbelief.
Fear produces unbelief.
But in realty faith is the opposite of fear.
Faith is a person..
Faith is the person of Jesus Christ, GOD the FATHER and the HOLY SPIRT.
They are the author and the finisher of our faith.
GOD is also Love, the Way, the Truth and the Life
Everything we need and all we can hope of becoming in found in the description of GOD.
"He is my ___" ….you fill in the blank.
We are to have the fear of the LORD, but GOD is not fear.
We are to do more than just reverence GOD. We are to actually fear
the power and authority He has that should we oppose Him it should make us
tremble with fear of losing Him or incurring His wrath.
GOD is love. There is no fear in GOD. That is one of the attributes that define
HIs nature....but GOD is a righteous and just GOD...and He should be feared.
The Bible actually says, the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
God overcame fear on the cross. He went to the cross because of Love for His FATHER.
But the FATHER sent Jesus because of His love for YOU!
GOD is unconditional LOVE, and this is who He is,
GOD can never respond in any other way.
But GOD defines love different than we do. To love Him is to obey Him.
If we say we love Him but do not do what He says, God says it is as though we hate Him.
God can never deny Himself or be other than Who He really is.
GOD'S love is different from man's expression of love.
GOD will chasten, correct, teach, bring you to a place of repentance, and form you
into a His child that resembles Jesus, His first born.
But it is Christ in you that is reshaping you, not you becoming a better person.
No one is good but GOD. Mark 10:18 KJV
Let GOD in you be good through you.
Paul said, I die daily...to everything that is not of GOD.
I Corinthians 15:31 ESV
Ephesians 4:22-24 & Colossians 3:9-11 KJV
I am crucified with CHRIST.
I no longer live but it is Christ that lives in me.
Fear is not an emotion.
But fear manifest in your emotions and becomes disease in your body.
Anything that takes away your freedom is fear.
A stressor is anything that produces the opportunity for the sin
to manifest coming from pressure within.
Romans 12:3 says to each of us God has given the measure of faith.
Everyone has been given faith by God Himself.
Matthew 17:20-21talks about the mustard seed of faith and fasting.
In reality, we only need a small amount of faith to believe in the one who is Faith.
It should not take a lot of faith to believe God because God cannot fail.
It is misappropriated faith that keeps us from believing God correctly.
So often we look at ourselves to see how much faith we have.
Then we check to see if we have enough faith to move the mountain of obstacles we face.
And we come up short.
But when put our mustard seed of faith in the one who is Faith, the mountain has to move.
God’s Word doesn’t come back void. It will always accomplish what God sent it to do.
So put your faith in the mountain mover and the mountain will move.
It has no other option. Matthew 17:20 KJV
Fear is also a person. Fear is a being. Fear is sin.
Fear is the opposite of faith.
Faith is a person, Jesus Christ. Fear is the opposite of Jesus.
And the opposite of faith is fear, like the opposite of Christ is Satan.
Satan just doesn’t have fear but he is the embodiment of fear itself.
No one has more fear than Satan.
Faith and fear are two opposing forces and it is a battle for your life...
Jesus is fighting for you with faith and Satan is battling for you with fear.
This is why it is so important to remove any and every fear we have from our life.
It is literally a matter of life or death.
The Bible tells us heart issues are fear based.
Luke 21:26
Men’s hearts failing them for fear.
and looking after those things which are coming on the earth.
Fear, stress and anxiety is fear. It is not normal. All fear has torment.
Torment comes from our greatest fear coming upon us.
Job 3:25 KJV
When we deal with the fear the anxiety then torments leaves.
The enemy no longer as access to create the pressure that brings the torment.
God said to Cain sin is crouching at your door, it’s desire if for you but you must overcome it.
Genesis 4:7 KJV
Overcoming fear should be our goal to move forward with God.
When we are without fear we are available to God.
Strongholds of fear keep God from bringing His Kingdom on earth through us.
Often we will not confront other sin issues we need to deal with because of fear.
Fear is God’s worst enemy.
We need to make it ours as well.
