PART 1 - WHICH SIDE ARE YOU ON?
God is a positive God. He doesn’t believe in positive thinking
the way the world defines it,
but He does believe that all His children should be living in a positive way,
His way.
We can lean on Him from the inside out, and encourage ourselves in the LORD. This is a key to breakthrough,
and the process of becoming un-stuck and moving on with God.
David knew this…1 Samuel 30:6
This verse was written right after David and his men discovered
their family had been taken captive and their goods spoiled.
They had nothing left in the natural.
“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him,
because the soul of all the people was grieved,
every man for his sons and for his daughters;
but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God."
PART 2 -WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?
The body goes where the mind takes it.
Our body does not think, it just responds to our thoughts.
What we think actually creates who we become.
That is why GOD says, “take every thought, (every single one*)
captive to the Word of GOD...”
so that we let out minds be held captive by GOD.
*To take every thought captive simply means;
don’t let one thought, either good or bad,
pass through your mind,
without acknowledging and then
determining the source from which it came.
Part 3 - PICK UP YOUR SWORD
The sword is the WORD of GOD.
Pick it up, cast down the lies, and lift up the truth.
Speak the WORD in every area of your life
and live by it continually.
David learned in order to defeat Goliath,
he didn’t need a physical sword in his hand,
he needed the sword of the Word in his mouth.
He spoke forth and declared what was true
about God in his situation.
This was preparation for ruling and reigning later in life.
David spoke revelation from
GOD’S heart as an earthly king.
He said I see the LORD always (all the time)
at my right hand
(the right hand signifies the government of GOD).
David saw the pre-incarnate Christ
that became Jesus the man while
He was still with GOD the FATHER as the WORD.
Part 4 - DAVID'S CONVERSATION
WITH HIMSELF
The Psalms quote David as saying,
“David encouraged himself in the LORD.”
David knew where his help came from
and that it came from GOD alone. GOD was his source.
We are on the story of David and Goliath is found
in the book of 1 Samuel 17: 1-50 KJV
Read more in 1 Samuel or revisit Part 3 of the continuing Bible Study.
Just like David, we hear the comments of the enemy,
telling us what you can and can’t do
and what the enemy is going to do. These are lies the
enemy throws at us with thoughts and with words
to convince us to yield to a defeated foe.
Goliath was already defeated before he fell to the ground.
Because the words of David had already slain him.
David declared the results with words that went forth,
before the events unfolded and the victory materialized.
Part 5 - OUR CONCLUSION
We have HOPE if we have GOD.
God lifts us up and comforts us through our Hope in Him.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,
plans for welfare (to prosper you) and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
Your future Hope is secure in God alone. All other hope,
if it is not rooted and grounded in the hope of God for you
and for your family will somehow disappoint you with the outcome.
But Hope is found in GOD’s love for us and His goodness.
God says it is impossible to be separated from the love of God.
God will always love us throughout eternity because He is love.
He cannot deny who He is.
We will live forever because we are spirit
and GOD is Spirit who created us.
