COMMUNION
(KOINONIA)
“EVERY GOOD THING GIVEN AND EVERY PERFECT GIFT IS FROM ABOVE;
IT COMES DOWN FORM THE
FATHER OF LIGHTS [THE CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF THE HEAVENS],
IN WHOM THERE IS NO VARIATION [NO RISING OR SETTING] OR SHADOW CAST BY HIS TURNING [FOR HE IS PERFECT AND NEVER CHANGES]”. James 1:17 AMP
The Apostle Paul expressed his desire for the Church at Corinth, when he prayed that
“the grace of the LORD Jesus Christ, and the love of God (the FATHER) and the communion (koinonia) of the Holy Ghost, be with you all…” II Corinthians 13:14
This word communion is so intimate.
It is the Greek word koinonia which means a mutual
sharing in the things of GOD. It is a union and a shared partnership with
GOD and the body of Christ. The Holy Sprit wants to reveal your FATHER’s heart to you,
just as would be given from a FATHER to His child in affirmation.
I am so glad our GOD is a very passionate FATHER and He is a FATHER of emotions as well.
When you seek GOD as FATHER in koinonia, you move from
seeking His hand (provision)… to seeking His face (His person).
We often want to move His hand in an area we have determined we need this or that,
but when you seek His face, you can begin to learn His ways and develop in His character.
When the forming of who you are takes place by GOD, He can then give to you what
He longs for you to have; CHRIST IN YOU THE HOPE OF GLORY.
Moses sought God at this level.
God revealed his ways to Moses and His signs to the children of Israel.
GOD revealed Himself differently because one person or group of people wanted something different than the other.
Moses wanted God and he said, “Unless your presence goes with us I will not go…”
But the people only wanted what God could give them.
They never really developed the longing in their heart for a FATHER
that GOD longed for them to have.
I love the scripture that says, "But then shall I know... even as also I am known..."
(I may come to know facets of who He is now [but it will take the eons of eternity
to know Him more fully] ….and He will become intimately acquainted with us)
I Corinthians13:12 KJV
Being known of GOD through each other should be reflected in you and me sharing together the very heart of GOD in different aspects that make up GOD’s personhood.
As we seek Him individually in obedience to His will,
God’s will for you and me can come together in koinonia.
We will know koinonia as we experience the nature of our FATHER displayed through
the body of Christ (His children) by the love of the Holy Ghost that connects us together.
As born-again children we are truly a gift to one another from our FATHER above.
We are so unique and different; we should never try to be someone else.
The uniqueness of who you are is precious to GOD and important to the body of Christ.
We need each other all the time and in all so many ways.
Not that we are co-dependent on one another,
Or that we make each other our source,
but in a way that we need each other to reveal different aspects of GOD’s nature.
Each of us can reveal part of His nature we ourselves can never know
unless we come to know GOD in others.
I need you to show me how GOD is living through YOU!
As believers we all share this desire, which was placed there by God Himself.
A desire that we would want to know GOD our FATHER and know each other.
By knowing who we are in our own personalities, we can know who GOD is in us.
Our identity is found in who GOD says we are.
We are formed in our Father’s House.
We are the home of the FATHER on this earth; we are His children.
Our houses (our bodies) are where the Holy Spirit can reside.
The Holy Spirit a gift given to us by our HEAVENLY FATHER.
Jesus came to show us the FATHER through Christ living through us.
Jesus defines what we are to look like as GOD’s children.
To the degree that the Holy Spirit in you and the Holy Spirit in me hook up,
Is the degree we will have fellowship together the way God intended.
This can mean you are totally different than me and me from you,
Yet we share commonality in Christ.
The more we are aware of this and cultivate this fellowship in koinonia,
The more we grow into the people God saw and is forming us to become.
Through this understanding we help others become who GOD wants them to become as well.
People can follow the Christ they see in us as we follow Christ.
And out of sharing intimately with each other,
We find a love that cannot be known apart from the giving and receiving of ourselves to others.
GOD the FATHER is right there is the midst of our relationships, holding them all together,
Purposing fellowships to become what He defines them to be, running interference if we allow it,
That keeps us out of offense and misunderstandings that can so easily beset us;
Only then can we can become the real and true Body of Christ.
In the process of establishing fellowships GOD’s way, the Father reveals glimpses of Himself.
He teaches each one of us in a different way.
Then the part of GOD that He reveals to you, you can then share with me.
And we discover together through one another’s perception,
a small totality of GOD not perceived otherwise.
I say a small part of GOD because it will take eternity to know Him so completely.
We can then have a new understanding and a revelation about GOD
by the Holy Spirit that is precious as we receive.
We progressively come to know what God is like and understand His ways more and more.
And as I become acquainted with you, that part of Him that has been formed in you
Begins to shine forth and embrace other parts of the Christ’ body as a whole.
We fully become His body through the body of Christ and koinonia through one another.
We are formed into the image and the likeness
of His very nature through the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22
The result is we reflect God to one another through koinonia.
I know the cry of my heart is, and I sense that it is yours too…
“FATHER I want to know You as much as humanly possible in bodies of clay.”
“Bodies of clay” signifies the body we are born with, where we exist here on the earth.
Clay containers of GOD’s love in our present state before
We enter the realm of where we shall see Him face-to-face and be known as we were known here,
And before we have a new body suited for a new assignment… In the millennium.
We say things like, “God I want more of you.”
But we have all of God through the Holy Spirit now
It will take many lifetimes to perceive that reality in fullness,
And to know the potential of realizing Who we have living inside of us.
We cannot measure who He is as more or less, or what portion we have, because he is a person.
A person is complete and cannot be divided into how much we can contain.
So I think it would be correct to say, I want God to have more of me!
I want God to have as much of me now by my surrendered heart to him as humanly possible.
I want to bring Heaven here and reveal His will. How about you?
Psalm 23 says, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven!”
I prayed a prayer to God years and years ago, I just want just to know You for who You are…
and not for what I could get from Him…or even ask Him to give me… Just Him.
What I desired was not even in my thoughts,
when I said those words. I truly wanted just to know Him.
The prayer I prayed was birthed out of a desperate need for GOD to be GOD in my life.
That prayer has never changed… but only increases day by day.
